Where did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend.

Who made the first move?

Thats a tough question (lol) as I invited him first to join me and some of my friends at a party, but he made the first move in asking me on a proper date.

How long did you date before getting married?

We dated for 3.5 years before tying the knot.

Where did you go on your first date?

Yu Mi Japanese restaurant at Taj Samudra.

How early did you start planning?

I’m a massive planner so I started no sooner he proposed which was in December’17 and we got married in August’18.. so 8 months.

Where did you have your wedding?

Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.

What do you wish you knew before?

I definitely knew wedding planning would be a stressful affair, hence I started planning as early as possible. But I wish I admitted to myself that not every single thing is gonna run perfectly on the big day and to just have fun. I was quite stressed on the actual day especially at the beginning! So my advise to any bride to be is “remember to have fun!”. Also if you are planning to get a wedding planner, get one who knows what he/she’s doing! Ours sucked lol. I think she was more stressed out than I was! Haha

How many wedding dresses did you try on?

Just one. But that’s because I had mine made.

Who designed your wedding dress?

Ayora designerwear by Ayodhya.

What was your favourite memory from your wedding?

Gosh..so many. From walking down the aisle to exchanging vows to our first dance and the father-daughter dance.

How’s married life?

Amazing! Marriage as any married person would tell you comes with many many challenges. But it’s a beautiful journey if you’re married to your best friend, and I’m lucky to have married mine.
