A Love Story in the Skies: Madumali’s Dream Wedding Journey
We had the pleasure of speaking with our bride, Madumali! Despite her busy schedule as a cabin crew member traveling the world, she took a moment to share with us about her beautiful wedding..
1.Could you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at the airline?
Imagine me as a lively and enthusiastic individual who loves meeting new people and exploring new places. As a cabin crew member at an international airline, my day is filled with excitement and a sense of adventure. I greet passengers with a warm smile, ensuring they feel comfortable and safe throughout their journey!
2.What inspired you to work in the aviation industry?
The thrill of flying, exploring new places, and meeting diverse people and learning about their culture made the aviation industry irresistible to me. Plus, who can resist a job where you get paid to travel and see the world from 30,000 feet?
3.What’s your favorite destination you’ve traveled to and why?
My favorite destination would be Paris because it's a romantic city with incredible food. I love indulging in fresh croissants, creamy cheeses, and exquisite pastries while strolling through charming streets and iconic landmarks.

4.How did you and your partner meet, and how did your relationship evolve over time?
We met during our training period as parallel batchmates, instantly clicking over shared experiences and a mutual love for travel. At first we were just flirting back and forth, we just made excuses to help each other through the rigorous training and long hours just to spend time with each other and end of training we were totally in love. His patience and kindness stood out to me early on, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear.
As we spent more time together, his goofiness brought a lot of joy and laughter into my life. Whether it was cracking jokes during our breaks or coming up with fun ways to pass the time on layovers, his sense of humor made even the toughest days enjoyable.
5.What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
The most memorable moment of our wedding day was at the church when I looked at him as my husband before God. That instant, filled with love and emotion, felt incredibly special and profound, marking the beginning of our lifelong journey together! Nadun the best part is you captured that very moment and it’s there in the pictures the very moment I was looking at him cheekily!
6.What was the biggest surprise or unexpected moment during your wedding?
The biggest surprise was how everything fell into place perfectly. Our first dance was a blast—we forgot the steps but improvised beautifully. Plus, my dad's unexpected choreography during our father-daughter dance was hilarious and unforgettable!
7.As someone who loves to travel, where did you go for your honeymoon?
For our honeymoon, we went to Singapore and Langkawi in Malaysia. We had a blast in Singapore with a bunch of friends, exploring the city's vibrant attractions. Then, we properly honeymooned in Langkawi at the Berjaya Langkawi Resort, where we witnessed the most beautiful sunset of our lives together.
8.Do you have a travel bucket list? If so, what are the top three places on it?
Yes, I do have a travel bucket list! The top three places on it are Capri in Italy for its stunning beaches, Egypt to explore its rich history and savor the delicious food, and Rovaniemi, Finland to witness the Northern Lights for an unforgettable natural spectacle.
9.What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done on a trip?
The most adventurous thing I’ve done on a trip was hiking a mountain in Nepal for 5 days. At the summit, my husband proposed to me on our 6th anniversary, making it an unforgettable and romantic adventure.
10.How do you balance work, travel, and married life?
Balancing work, travel, and married life is a breeze with Druvi by my side. Since we’re both cabin crew, we get to explore the world together, and he makes every journey fun and loving. His support and our shared adventures keep our marriage sweet and exciting!
11.What’s your favorite in-flight meal or snack?
My favorite in-flight meal is definitely the Sri Lankan milk rice with chicken curry and lunu miris. It’s like a delicious party in my mouth with three kinds of milky rice and that spicy kick! Yummy!
12.Do you have any travel tips for couples planning their honeymoon?
- Pack Light: You’ll want room for souvenirs and keepsakes and all the snacks from your adventures
- Be Present: Make memories together and use your phone less; focus on enjoying each moment.
- Stay Adventurous: Embrace excitement and spontaneity, and capture moments for later, but don’t stress about perfect photos.
- Seize the Day: Try new experiences and do everything you can—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip!
13.What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m pretty open about who I am—there aren't many surprises because I like to be genuine and transparent. People might be surprised to learn that I’m actually a big softie when it comes to feelings. I might seem tough on the outside, but I’m like a marshmallow inside—super sensitive and easily touched by emotions!
14.What’s your go-to karaoke song?
My go-to karaoke song? Anything by Taylor Swift! Whether it’s belting out "Shake It Off" or "Love Story," I’m all in. Go Taylor!
15.What are you most looking forward to in this new chapter of your life?
I’m most excited about building a cozy little house where we can gather as a family, travel the world together, watch our kids grow up, and eventually retire and grow old side by side. It’s like crafting the perfect adventure story for our lives!

We‘ll be talking to a different bride every week so stay tuned for more!
